Our First Open House

When my two coworkers and I started working at Paramount Event Venue last June, we knew we would have to get creative about how to keep the business going during COVID. We wanted to have a grand opening and open house but with cases rising, the time was never right. Come late fall of last year, we decided mid-January would finally be our first open house and would act as our sort-of grand opening. To make sure it was a safe event, We designated time slots to keep a low capacity, required masks and social distancing, checked temperatures at the door, and provided lots of hand sanitizer. Because of all of our amazing vendors and their support, we were able to have a safe and successful open house. All photos are by Morgan Caddell Photography and video by Miguel at September photos. When deciding on a 'theme' for the show, we wanted something that fit into January but was colorful and upbeat. We started with a mood board for the florals that consisted of dark purples, reds, and pinks with pops of yellow and green. From there we went to CE Rental picked a set of linens in purple complimented by white and gold for the flatware, chargers, and plates. Blooms Works created beautiful floral arrangements for the tables as well as decorated our hanging garden boxes with greenery and candles.

All of our styled tables were adorned with menus, programs, and name cards all from Cute Buttons. We decided to use a variety so our guests could see different options. Bloom Works also decorated with gold votive candle holders and floral containers to finish off the look. Uplighting from Island Sound transformed the space and made all of the decor cohesive. The cake by Confectionate Cakes showed off the jewel-toned color scheme and was a show-stopper on our floating cake table. Custom pieces from Shine Bright Like a Diamond completed the design and really stood out.

Upon entering, our guests were greeted with a glass of champagne poured by an aerial artist from Pure Vida Studio. This talented studio works as a unique entertainment experience for events and also has classes for yoga as well as aerials. This would be perfect for a bachelorette party, bridal shower, family bonding, or just to try something new. The wedding planner at our show, Nicole from Timeless Events, decorated our front entry way tables as well as styled her own booth with a beautiful green, gold, and black design. The laser-cut name cards at her place settings are a new venture and great add-on option for her couples.

The mood of the show was set with music by CWDJ Entertainment and trust me, we were dancing the whole day. They brought the party! Spark Photo Booth was a great addition that came with props and backdrops. After you took your photo, you received a customized printed copy along with a digital copy sent straight to your phone for you to post on social media. Catering Works brought along their signature popcorn, which would make great favors or snacks, and personal sized charcuterie and cheese boards for guests to take.

Kevin Holland from Personal Weddings NC is an officiant that focuses on making sure the ceremony reflects the personality of the couple. He is available for spiritual, Christian, non-denominational, interfaith and non-religious ceremonies and has performed over 500 ceremonies in his career. Kim from Hyatt House Brier Creek attended our show to provide accommodation options for our couples. This Hyatt House is newly built and will provide shuttle service to and from the airport and your event with us (we would highly recommend).

Gordon with Triangle Lawn Games provided the fun and is a perfect addition to your indoor or outdoor event! We saw quite a few guests playing games on our patio during the show. Rocky Top Bar is our partner for bar services and was no exception during the event. They always provide amazing services and have great cocktail selections for your event.
