A few weeks ago, we had one of our future bride and grooms come in on a rainy day for their engagement shoot. This lucky couple won this session from a great local photographer.
Kentoura told us, "Earlier this year, I attended a wedding and event showcase, that is where I met Nikki from Fancy this Photography! The event was coming to an end and I was heading out and Nikki’s yellow button pins that read “I’m so fancy “ caught my eye! I immediately starting singing the song “Fancy" by Iggy Azalea! One of my good friends pointed out to me that she was giving away a free engagement shoot and filled the form with my information while Nikki and I started to become acquainted! During our chat we realized that we are both from eastern North Carolina! Home of the best barbecue! To my surprise the next morning, I opened my email and we won!" Kentoura and Malik are the most deserving couple for this prize as they have hit many setbacks planning their wedding due to COVID-19. "2020 has been a crazy year and we’ve had to reschedule our shoot about five times! Finally! We set a date and stuck with it." Their engagement shoot was originally supposed to take place outdoors in downtown Durham when Kentoura was worried about about rain. "I noticed the weather wasn’t looking too promising and I had to think fast."
"I thought about how beautiful Paramount Venue would be if we were able to capture it in our photos! I called the day before and they were glad to have us!" Her rain back-up plan made for a sweet photoshoot at their wedding venue. Kentoura wore a stunning orange dress while Malik wore a plaid suit with just a hint of orange to bring the look together. Later in the evening the couple wore a t-shirt set with their wedding date to use for their announcements. Kentoura celebrated their upcoming wedding with a Pinterest-worthy bachelorette/birthday weekend last month. "I’m so thankful for Fancy This Photography and Paramount Event Venue for allowing us to bring all of our visions to life beautifully and at the last minute" Kentoura told us. We are so excited to celebrate their long awaited wedding in March of 2020 at Paramount.
